Because a major portion of its diet in the wild is other snakes, the Florida Kingsnake should not be kept with other snakes, even those of the same species. They need a large enclosure, kept about 80 degrees Fahrenheit witha basking area 85 to 90 degrees. At night, the temperature should drop to between 70 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. The enclosure should be kept dry, although it can be misted when the animal is shedding.
